This was the first post on the Kama Reserve. Previously writing this article, there were no signs at the entrance to the reserve prohibiting cycling. The Molonglo River Reserve: Reserve Management Plan 2019 (26 July 2019) states that it is permitted (read more here and below). There is no reason given for any change by ACT Environment.

Kama Nature Reserve was incorporated into the Molonglo River Reserve: Reserve Management Plan 2019 (26 July 2019). It was renamed “Kama” as it is no longer part of the Canberra Nature Park.
“Cycling opportunities from casual bike rides to long, challenging rides will be provided for on the existing management tracks.”

Kama Nature Reserve is on the other side of William Hovell Drive from The Pinnacle Offset Area. The reserve is adjacent to the Whitlam estate. Some of the management trails are quite good. There is parking on William Hovell Drive, or ride along Pipe Flat.

Read the cycling summary for the Molonglo River Reserve: Reserve Management Plan 2019. The Molonglo Valley Plan for the Protection of Matters of National Environmental Significance (the NES Plan 2011) also discusses Kama. A ride review along Pipe Flat can be found here.

There are a number of internet pages on Kama, too.
