Heysen Street and the Woden Renewal

One comment on the Heysen Street Link suggested that it be extended to Woden. This is planned but when?

The bicycle path along Heysen Street is keenly awaited. The current project ends at Devonport Street. As you can see that still leaves a gap (see CyclOSM map).

The ACT Government is considering continuing this cycle path all the way to Woden. This is part of the Woden Renewal

“We’re improving connectivity for walking and cycling between Weston Creek and Woden with a new path through the Oakey Hill Nature Reserve being investigated.”

There is a good “interactive map to see what’s happening where in the Woden Town Centre.”

2020 is an election year in the ACT and your local candidates will call. Please make sure to request your favourite cycle path project. Community interest and support is essential for ACT Budget funding of these projects.
