The ACT Government has made another Fast Track announcement (8 July 2020). The event was grand and the language very positive. Only ONE new strategic project was announced: Heysen Street. Fast Track is slow to fix the missing links.
The bicycle path along Heysen Street is Stage 1 of the project but ends at Devonport Street. Now the Stage 2 announcement (8 July 2020) fills another gap (see below).
The second stage of the Heysen Street Link in Lyons – a new 2.5m wide off-road asphalt shared path along Launceston Street from Burnie Street to the underpass near the Lyons shops.
ACT Government, Fast Track announcement, 8 July 2020
The missing link gets smaller but still exists along Devonport Street and is currently not funded.

The ACT Government is considering continuing this cycle path all the way to Woden. This is part of the Woden Renewal.
2020 is an election year in the ACT and your local candidates will call. Please make sure to request your favourite cycle path project. Community interest and support is essential for ACT Budget funding of these projects.
