Isaac Ridge peak from Woden Bus Station

Forest ride, 220m climb and 16km return for great views. Take the bus to Woden. Ride to the peak of Isaac Ridge ride and back. First a gentle climb along a good bike path to the southern end of the ridge before doubling back for the second half of the climb and the ascent to the ridge along The Spine singletrack. The ridge is then mostly flat until just before the peak.

Move @ Moncrieff

A play space in Gungahlin that is beautifully done. This area is flat and the bike infrastructure is good. One of the successes of urban planning in Gungahlin is certainly the Moncrieff Community Recreation Park Playground. It is also known as “Move at Moncrief”.

Need to go: stuck at playgrounds without toilets

Parenting is looking after your children’s needs. Public toilets are essential infrastructure for families. Taking your children to a public place means you will need a public toilet. Ride with kids and there is no quick way home. Without a toilet, a visit to the playground will end as soon as your child needs to go.

Play space is child’s play

Playgrounds are essential for children. With children, you would be familiar with hours spent at a playground. Living close to a good playground is of greatly valued. If you are out on the bike, why not ride there. For small kids, this will be the local playground, however, if they are older there may be a “play space” close by.

Mount Majura: highest of the city peaks

Mount Majura Road is an interesting CAT 3 hill climb. Going up is a fitness challenge. Going down the Mineshaft Descent is a challenge for the nerves. If you like hills this is a good ride. Mount Majura is part of Canberra Nature Park.

“Expensive” is a relative expression. We will go to the same effort to get a 5% discount whether products costs $100 or $10,000. We much prefer to have a $5 discount for cash than pay $5 more to use the credit card. Electric bikes are comparatively cheap and we are beginning to notice.
