The Molonglo Stage 2 Transport Planning related information is from freedom of information request (FOI 21-101215), released 1 April 2021, from EPSDD. Highlighted here are a mix of 18 documents dated from 2010 to 2019 for the suburbs Coombs, Wright, Molonglo and Denman Prospect. The documents fall mostly in the category estate development plans, planning design frameworks, or a development application.
Molonglo has only 5000 residents currently and the traffic chaos might lead us to think it cannot get much worse. Molonglo is at the beginning of a rapid growth spurt and for the next decade the congestion will grow rapidly.
The Molonglo Valley appears a sea of green but has been carved in regions with quite different futures: getting the bigger picture of Denman North, the new section of the Denman Prospect estate and the surrounds.
Molonglo Valley is not lost, but it is still trying to find its way. The next step seems to be the Molonglo Valley Community Council. It is nowhere close to finished and hopefully, the Molonglo Valley Community Council will make a difference.
Views of Denman Prospect and the Molonglo Valley. Gravel ride through the forest to a hilltop for great views and down to the Molonglo River again. The route starts and ends at the Denman Prospect R10 bus stop. Find at the shops a café, supermarket, and toilets. Ride in a clockwise direction for minimum gradients. Mountain bike recommended. Length 8 km and 180 m rise. Steep descent. The ride is very enjoyable.
